Founded by Helen Summerfield-Brown in 2018, Stray Dog Support’s main mission is to raise awareness of the issues facing street dogs around the world, and to provide resources for those who help with their care.
During her time volunteering to help at-risk animals, Helen saw the plight of dogs forced to live in the streets of India and Thailand, and recognized their inhumane treatment and unsafe conditions that drove her to establish Stray Dog Support.
She now dedicates her life working with a few like-minded rescuers to give these vulnerable dogs a better life, and has successfully placed more than 295 dogs in U.S. and Canada homes with the help of her rescue partners.
Outside of her rescue work, Helen has held both Executive and Management positions within HR at multiple corporations. When she's not working on the rescue, she enjoys spending her time with her rescue dogs at home!

Dhruv was always interested in animal rescue and welfare but finally started caring and rescuing community dogs almost 5 years after completing his schooling.
His primary areas of interest has always been spay/neuter and vaccination initiatives to curb human - animal conflict and work on population control. His excitement to exploring and experimenting, paired with his curiosity to learn how things work, is what we love about him!
Dhruv loves being surrounded by nature and animals and is also an avid hiker who always looks forward to push his limits further!
Being from India, a country having the highest stray dog population globally, he has supported initiatives in the local community, as well as successfully sterilizing and vaccinating 1000+ dogs along with other local volunteers.
His zeal to help more animals and continue fighting for them along with catering to his full time job is something that's truly inspiring.

Heather has admired the work Stray Dog Support does to help the precious, vulnerable animals all around the globe for several years, keeping a close and hopeful eye on all of their stories. She is thrilled to be a part of making miracles happen for each and every deserving and in-need dog!
Her love for all animals started from when she was a child, however dogs have always held a very special place in her heart. They are truly man (and woman’s) best friend. Heather has been involved in multiple rescue and animals advocacy groups throughout her life, with a focus on more global efforts over the past several years
Her heart is with every animal in need, and she feels so blessed to be able to play a role in bettering the lives of dogs who desperately need help, support, love and care.
Heather plays a vital role at Stray Dog Support, ensuring the welfare of our animals through her meticulous and compassionate work. As Administrative Manager, she communicates closely with all our shelter liaisons and managers to keep our animal care database current. Heather’s attention to detail means we have a comprehensive log of each animal's daily life, needs, and health status.
Her work allows us to track medical care schedules, note any behavioral changes, and make sure every animal is thriving under our quality standards.
Heather’s role will continue to strengthen our partnerships and help us understand each rescue’s daily challenges, allowing us to provide the best possible support.
By knowing our animals inside and out, she directly increases their chances for successful future adoptions and helps them lead the best lives possible while in our care.
At Stray Dog Support, we are dedicated to improving the lives of abused, neglected and stray animals in need everywhere. Our team is 100% remote.
We're always looking for volunteers within various areas of the organization. If you're interested in joining us in making a difference, click the button below to get in touch.
