So many of our dogs have found wonderful homes and are currently receiving excellent care and plenty of love.
We are beyond grateful for each one of our rescue partners, adopters, donors and supporters who have helped give one of our dogs a happy ending after a life-long struggle for survival.
There is nothing more heartwarming and rewarding than knowing that one of our rescue dogs is finally home and in loving hands, and we extend a heartfelt thank you to every one of you who made a dog’s dream come true.
So many people and groups played a part in getting 3 special needs dogs from Iraq to the USA.
We asked a lot of so many and everyone came through. Thank you to our donors, rescue partners, family and friends.
We are humbled by everyone’s support in changing the lives of these 3 dogs who had little chance if left in the shelter in Iraq. Thank you all!
After years of struggles, recovery and healing Cleopatra has finally found her home in Canada.
Cleopatra's story is one of resilience, as she survived having her two front legs broken and a double amputation as a result. Stray Dog support Founder, Helen, promised her that we would get her better and find a home and now she has.
We are in awe with how strong and sweet this girl is. She is living a wonderful life with her fur-siblings and is doing fantastic.
We wish you all the best, Cleo! Check out some more Happy Tales photos below.
Whiskey has come a long way from the dog that was found dumped in the desert near Cairo, Egypt without food or water. He had a small "flipper" leg (which we amputated) as well as issues with his other shoulder, so rather than seek help, he was just tossed out like his life did not matter. After months of rehabilitation and with the help of our partner BARC's Rescue, he was adopted in Alberta, Canada!
Whiskey was one of the lucky ones who found his best person to love him unconditionally. He was initially being fostered but quickly became a "foster fail". Whiskey's new mom does not see Whiskey as a disabled dog and pushes him to do things like mountain hiking and camping and even helicopter rides (which he loves)!
Whiskey is one of many Stray Dog Support animals who has had a successful start to a new, loving life. Check out some more Happy Tales photos below!
Kiran came to Pennsylvania USA last year and was absolutely afraid of everyone. Kiran was so shy because of what she had been through in India. We were so grateful when rescue Two Ladies Four Paws stepped up and took her into their program and through love and patience, slowly got her out of her shell.
After months and months Kiran was then placed with a foster family and guess what? They absolutely fell in love with her and wanted to make her a permanent part of their family! Can you believe that? They just accepted Kiran for who she is and now this frightened little street dog from India will have the best life and the family (person) she deserves.
You know what is even more exciting? After Kiran's adoption, her new mom knew it would lead her to a new venture, Halo Luminary Candle Co.
What is so special is that each of the candles are inspired from one of the many dogs that we have currently in our program at Stray Dog Support or dogs that have already been adopted or have sadly crossed the rainbow bridge. Halo Luminary Candle Co. supports stray dogs worldwide by contributing a portion of their earnings to non-profit rescue programs. They honor each dog by naming their collection of candles after the pups in the program. Their products are hand-poured in the US and made with 100% soy wax and non-toxic scents.
We absolutely love success stories like Kiran's. Not only did a shy, nervous street dog get a second chance with an amazing family, but through this rescue, hundreds of other street dogs will be saved and supported through Halo Luminary Candle Co.
