Sandesh

FEMALE | UP TO DATE ON VACCINES | APPROX. 1 YEARS OLD | APPROX. 25LB | MIX | GREAT WITH PEOPLE | GOOD WITH DOGS | GOOD WITH KIDS | GOOD WITH CATS | HIGH ENERGY | VERY SWEET | PLAYFUL | LOCATED IN INDIA

Sandesh, who was rescued from the streets of Baranagar India back in April 2022, is looking so much better from the broken little puppy we first saw. Her story, like so many others was tragic and she was found as a puppy, injured and in agony, crying out for help. She laid there for days with no help after she was attacked by larger dogs as a tiny 2-month-old puppy, which left her with multiple broken bones.

She also suffered with a massive hernia that had consumed her whole body that had to be surgically removed. Unfortunately, there was nothing we could do to reverse or correct her injuries so she will never be able to walk again, but she is learning to adapt to not having the use of her back legs.

Sandesh is now about 1.5 years old and she has been vaccinated but not yet spayed as we have been a little hesitant to get it done since she had been battling with chronic UTI's which she received medication for. We will now consult with the vet team to see if we should get it done. She has to wear a diaper because she is incontinent like so many paralyzed dogs but other than that, Sandesh is a happy little girl.

According to her amazing foster, Sandesh is "very sweet and innocent in nature who is always ready to play with anyone and anything".  At SDS we pride ourselves on taking the most vulnerable dogs and we have a large number of special needs pups in our program, so thank you for your support and for helping us help dogs like Sandesh.
